Faux
Fireplaces - Why Use Them?
If you currently do not have a fireplace in your home, yet
you would love to have the look of one. Faux fireplaces may be
the solution you're looking for.
Installing an actual fireplace is no easy task, not to
mention how expensive it can be. And when you take into account
all of the maintenance and the mess, it's easy to see the
advantages a faux fireplace brings to the home.
Naturally, there are disadvantages of these types of
fireplaces. One of the major ones being that they produce no
heat. Since there is no fire, there's no heat. (You can put in
a heater underneath the logs though.)
They can also look cheap if you're not careful and pick out
the wrong design.
Installation
When it comes to installing a fireplace like this, you have
a couple of options. First, you can opt for a higher end model
that is built on site and professionally installed.
You can also purchase one that is fully assembled and ready
to be installed.
Finally, you can purchase one that requires assembly. I
don't recommend going that route unless you're an expert or
you'll have an expert doing the assembly and installation.
Faux Fireplace
Options
One of the more important options you'll find is in regards
to the finish. Don't skimp on the quality if you want the
fireplace to last for years in the future.
You can also get more extravagant artistic features built
into the fireplace as well. Finish it off with a beautiful
mantle piece and you have something very special.
For those who don't want to go to the expense or have the
upkeep that comes with a real wood burning fireplaces, then
faux fireplaces are well worth looking into.
