A Guide To Electric
Fireplace Logs
More and more people are turning to electric
fireplaces today more than ever before. It makes sense
when you consider the advantages that come with this type of
fireplace.
- Simple installation without having to tear into
interior walls or build a chimney.
- Easy to regulate – simply turn the unit on or off when
needing heat.
- No wood to cut, store and bring inside whenever you
want a fire.
- Safety – no burning embers or sparks flying out into
the room.
While these are certainly good advantages for having an
electric fireplace, the main objection over the years has
always been with an electric fireplace log. They have often
times looked cheap and worthless. Well, electric fireplace logs
have come a long way from those days as you will see.
Today, electric logs are nearly life-like in appearance and
simulate an actual wood burning log. They even have the
crackling sounds just like a regular log does.
Electric fireplace logs come in several different types and
styles including:
Crackling Electric Logs
This type of electric log can be made out of oak or other
type of wood and features a unique mechanism that turns inside
the log and gives off the crackling sounds. A light bulb helps
to produce the orange glow of an actual fire.
Electric Log Heater
To produce the warmth you desire in your room you will need
a log heater. This unit goes underneath the logs and puts out a
good amount of heat for the average room.
The log heater also contains a built-in thermostat that
allows you to control the temperature at all times.
Electric Fireplace Inserts
These are great for using in an existing fireplace. You
simply put the unit inside your existing fireplace and you are
good to go.
Electric fireplace logs can provide the comfort and
relaxation of a regular wood burning fireplace. They are
portable and can enhance the décor of any room. They make for a
good option if you have wanted the look and feel of a real
fireplace without the hassles or the mess that comes along with
them.
