The Warmth Of A
Country Fireplace
Are you the kind of person who loves a nice warm country
fireplace in the middle of winter? Do you look forward to
those cold winter days when the wind blows and the snow falls?
You're not alone as there are many people who simply love the
clean cool air after going through a hot and humid summer.
The fact is, some people are winter types and others are
summer types. If you're one of those who are cold weather fans
then you probably love the warmth and beauty of a nice country
fireplace. Perhaps it doesn't have to completely country
looking. Maybe you like it ornate looking, or maybe even a
contemporary fireplace is more your style. For me
personally, a country fireplace gives me a nice warm cozy
feeling that I can't get enough of on a cold day.
For those who have a log home in the mountains or out in the
country, you most likely already have a country fireplace and
know what I'm talking about. Fireplaces go back a long way. Up
until the last 100 years, most everyone heated their homes with
fireplaces. There were no furnaces of HVAC systems. People had
a country fireplace or a wood burning stove to heat up
their houses. It was either that or you had no heat at all.
Last year I got to spend a few weeks with a close relative
who has a home and some acreage in Canada. I learned what
winter was all about to say the least, but they have a
beautiful home with several wood burning
fireplaces inside. I never experienced the romance that a
country fireplace can bring to a couple until my wife and I sat
by the fire for several nights just looking at the flames and
listening to the crackle and popping from the logs. It is hard
to describe.
We enjoyed those couple of weeks to the fullest. Even with
the freezing temperatures and all the snow, that cozy country
fireplace filled the entire house with warmth. Of course, we
can't wait to go back again this winter. The time away from the
city life and the solitude it provides makes for a wonderful
experience.
If a classic country fireplace is just what your home needs,
spend a little time and explore your options. The Internet can
be a big asset in your search for information. There are many
websites that can give you information on all types of
fireplaces along with prices and helpful answers to common
questions. So, don't just dream of having that nice new
fireplace, turn it into a reality.
